arcroad · ride the detour

13 metres across.

HITEC City–Kukatpally Main Road, APHB Colony. The other side is 13 m away, and there is no way across. Take the wheel for the detour we drove on 1 Nov 2026, on its real clock.

The other side is 13 m away, across the median.

Four options from India's road guidance, each drawn on this street with its trade-off. They are illustrations to make the choice concrete, not designs; the road owner decides.

What we measured here

13 mStraight across, on OpenStreetMap. The median has no gap at this point.
1.58 km · 3 min 13 sWest side to east side, as we drove it on 1 Nov 2026. The model said 1.57 km.
1.55 km · 11 min 32 sEast side to west side, the same day. The model said 1.38 km. One drive, at one time of day.

How this is built, and its limits

The distances and the clock are from our drive on 1 Nov 2026: one driver, one car, phone GPS once a second (about ±50 m). The clock runs in the real time of that pass, replayed faster. Where the car slows and stops along the way is illustrated; the total time is what we measured. Another day, or another hour, will differ.

The road is drawn straight and to scale in length; the real road bends a little and its exact U-turn points may sit a little nearer or further. The vehicles, buildings and trees are made up for illustration, and the traffic is drawn to match the average speed we measured on each pass (about 29 km/h one way, 8 km/h the other). No photo, person or number plate from the drive appears here.

The monthly figures assume one crossing each way on every working day (22 days) and use the cost calculator's own figures: petrol at ₹116.15/L (Hyderabad, 16 Oct 2026), 50 km/L for a two-wheeler and 16 km/L for a car. They count fuel only. This page says nothing about walking: arcroad measures driving.
